artist’s statement

My work is inspired by place. My love of nature has always been part of my life, and over time my paintings have evolved from recognizable landscapes into more abstract aerial views.

I play with line, color and space, simplifying and abstracting the landscape until it becomes something both familiar and imagined. My hope is that these paintings invite people to pause for a moment and reconnect with the beauty of the world around them.

The aerial perspective has become increasingly important in my work. It offers a sense of freedom - of being unshackled from the everyday. From these angles, real and imagined, I feel like a bird, suspended between earth and sky. It suits my nature as a solitary observer, allowing me to see the landscape as a whole rather than in fragments.

This vantage is more than scenery. It is a place of reflection, renewal and wonder. If my paintings encourage someone to look more closely, breathe a little deeper, or care a little more for the natural world, then they have done what I hoped they would.

I’m a Swiss-born artist working in Bristol, New York, where the changing seasons and surrounding environment remain a constant source of inspiration.

I studied fine art at Nazareth University Rochester and have been actively exhibiting and selling my art for over 30 years, both in the US and overseas. I have also been featured in a number of publications and received numerous awards for both my painting and mixed media work.
